Nowinnofee.co.uk, an independent resource website for people looking to pursue compensation claims, is calling for a change in UK motoring law making winter tyres a legal requirement for all vehicles.

The petition comes after the site saw an increase in the number of whiplash claims over the latest bout of bad weather, demonstrating the dangers that heavy snowfall and icy temperatures bring.

Tom Johnson, founder of Nowinnofee.co.uk said; “The number of leads received during the winter period has been overwhelming and has made the dangers of winter driving very evident. Winter tyres are a legal requirement in most EU countries but not in the UK, and the switch could help prevent thousands of accidents on our roads every year. “….

With more snow and ice forecast for the next two weeks, leading compensation claims website Nowinnofee.co.uk, is warning inexperienced drivers to take extra care on the roads this winter or they could face massive increases in their insurance premiums.

Tom Johnson, founder of Nowinnofee.co.uk said; “Unfortunately most winter accidents are the fault of inexperienced road users not knowing how to drive in difficult or extreme conditions. Losing control in the snow can result in accident and injury to other people and the number of whiplash claims increases significantly during the wintertime. Not only that, but accidents lead to huge insurance premium increases for new drivers and with Britain not used to such heavy snowfall, many drivers will not have experience of venturing out in bad weather.” ……

Nowinnofee.co.uk, the UK’s first independent resource website for people looking to pursue compensation claims, has today announced a ten fold increase in the number of people looking for information about making hospital negligence claims. This follows the recent report by Monitor, the Independent Regulator of NHS Foundation Trusts. Enquiries began shortly after the story was published in the media with people worried they, or their relatives, did not receive the quality of care they should expect.

Commenting on the increased number of website visitors, Tom Johnson, managing director and founder of Nowinnofee.co.uk said; “The public are looking for some honest and straightforward advice, especially after seeing the newspapers last week and over the weekend. Of course many people are just looking for additional information for reassurance but where there might be a case to answer…..

With winter fast approaching Nowinnofee.co.uk, the UK’s first independent resource website for people looking to pursue compensation claims, has launched its Look Before You Slip campaign to help people avoid nasty accidents while out and about this season.

Tom Johnson, founder of Nowinnofee.co.uk said: “With the weather getting worse, roads and pavements are already becoming a hazard for pedestrians. Wet leaves, frosty ground and especially snow and ice all present a danger and it is crucial that people take precautions if they are to avoid injury this winter.

“We hope that our Look Before You Slip campaign will increase risk awareness and help decrease the number of trips and falls this season.”

The News Of The World were one of the first newspapers to pick up on our study of Britains councils compensation payouts. We highlighted how poor legal advice to consumers is forcing councils to pay out compensation for some trivial claims. Nowinnofee.co.uk promotes sensible access to justice.

“One clumsy punter bagged just THREE QUID after taking a tumble on an uneven pavement.”

“Another won £20 for a damaged SHOE, while a lanky man got a tenner for bumping his HEAD on a low road sign.”

Link to original NOTW article is here

Then the Express was next with a far more balanced approach to the research.

“Tom Johnson, of nowinnofee.co.uk, said: “Trivial compensation claims like this are very worrying. They show that people are being advised to put in claims for minor and insignificant incidents and this bad advice is costing the taxpayer thousands of pounds.”

“The time and money spent processing paperwork – not to mention the legal expenses – can be as costly for a claim of £3 as it can for a claim of £3,000. The strain petty claims are putting on UK councils will ultimately result in increased taxes for the general public.”

Link to original Express article is here

The Telegraph article also highlights the need for consumers needing to be given the right kind of advice and structured legal council at the start of their claims process. Hawkish approaches to claiming for minor and insignificant and in some cases questionable expenses damages the reputation of the claims industry and casts a shadow over all the good that can come back to claimants through proper and structured legal claims advice.

“Anybody who has suffered accident or injury as a result of somebody else’s negligence is of course entitled to claim but we need to be sensible about it and people need to be sure that the advice they are seeking is genuine.”

“Consumers are not always aware of their legal right to compensation with many not fully understanding the meaning behnd the jargon and advertising slogans.”

“What peole need is relevant and honest advice to help them move forward with legitimate and worthwhile claims rather than wasting time on minor incidents.”
